Why Study Buddy works

No more flashcards

Every question is written for you from your slides, in your exam's format, and cites where it came from ("Slide 12"). Hours of card-making, gone.

Spaced repetition, built in

The method behind Anki runs inside every game. Misses come back in minutes, what you know waits days, then weeks, so your time goes where it counts.

Doesn't feel like studying

Battle fruit bosses while you answer questions. It's the kind of studying you actually want to come back to.

How it works

From slides to study game in three steps

  1. Step 1: Upload your class material

Drop in PDFs, PowerPoints, Word docs, or photos of your notes. Add a line about your exam's format.

  2. Step 2: We do the work

AI finds the learning objectives, writes the questions for you, then checks every answer against your slides.

  3. Step 3: Review, play, and share

Edit anything you like, then share one link. Classmates play free, right away, no account needed.

The game

One game, made from your slides

Every study set becomes its own Study Bunny game. Nothing new to learn: just answer questions.

Study Bunny

Guide Mochi the bunny through an orchard of fruit bosses. Each lecture is a realm, each group of objectives is a fruit, and every right answer is a bite. Questions you miss come back until they stick.

Battle a fruit boss

The most efficient way to study

Spaced repetition, built into every game

Practice questions and spaced repetition are two of the best-proven ways to remember what you study. Anki made them famous, but you had to make every card yourself. Study Buddy does both for you, inside a game: answer, see why, and each question comes back right before you'd forget it.

  1. 1. Learn

Objectives first, so you know what the exam expects.

  2. 2. Train

Multiple choice and fill-in drills with instant explanations.

  3. 3. Battle

Prove it under pressure in boss fights for each lecture.

  4. 4. Review

Misses come back in minutes. What you know waits 1, 3, 7, then 21 days.

FAQ

Questions, answered

What can I upload?
PDFs, PowerPoint (.pptx) and Word (.docx) files, photos or screenshots of notes and slides (PNG or JPG), or text you paste in. Put several files together to make one study set, like every lecture before an exam.
How is this different from Anki or flashcards?
With Anki you make every card yourself, then review them on a schedule. Study Buddy writes the questions from your slides for you and builds the same idea, spaced repetition, into the game: questions you miss come back within minutes, and ones you know wait days, then weeks. You just play.
How good are the questions?
Every question is tied to a learning objective and to the slide or page it came from, and a second AI pass checks each one against your material and fixes or drops the weak ones. You still see everything before you share: edit, delete, regenerate, or add your own.
Can I choose how the questions are written?
Yes. When you upload, pick Straight from the slides (facts and how things work, only from your slides), Clinical cases (short scenarios and patient cases, still only from your slides) or Boards style (patient cases plus standard board facts for exams like the PANCE, USMLE or NCLEX). In Boards style, questions that use facts from outside your slides are marked "Beyond your slides". You can also customize the kinds of questions, what to cover and how much detail.
Can it match my exam's format?
Yes. Pick a question style, then add a note like "mostly about drug side effects" or "same format as these worksheets" when you upload, and the questions lean that way.
Do my classmates need an account?
No. Share the link and they can play right away; their progress is saved on their device. If they sign in, their progress follows them to any device.
Is my material private?
Your uploads are stored privately and used only to make your study sets. Share links are unlisted, and you can add a class code or delete a set at any time. See the Privacy Policy for details.
How long does it take?
Usually a few minutes for a lecture or two. Big decks take longer; you'll see the progress as it works, and you can leave and come back.
What does it cost?
Every account gets a free preview: the outline of your material plus 10 sample questions, so you can see the quality first. Making full games is part of the Student plan ($12/month) or the Exam Pass ($29 once for 3 months). Playing a set someone shared with you is always free.
